Takamaka Boutique Winery is the logical culmination of a long family tradition passed down from generation to generation which began in the 1930s when my grandfather started making wine with dried raisins. In the 1960s, my father followed in his footsteps after his oenology studies in France, and it was by his side, at the age of 8, during the school holidays, that my passion for wine was born, with a different project…. Go where no one has ventured: vinify lychee. After obtaining my Oenologist Degre in France and after 15 years of Research and Development, I decided to create Takamaka Boutique Winery and to offer the first 100% Mauritian wines with a particular emphasis on the concept of Origin and an Ecological dimension for better respect for the environment and the preservation of our natural resources. I therefore found myself in front of a blank page, with my knowledge of Oenology as my pen and to ink my desire to undertake, to innovate and to offer something unique: the first wine of Mauritius… By working on a fruit other than grape, I wanted to write Oenology differently, with heaps of grit, a good pinch of know-how and loads of fun with a new concept based on three key words: Origin – Originality – Authenticity . Backed by our Know-How and our Expertise, we now offer several cuvées, ranging from white to rosé and from dry to sweet, which are acclaimed by wine professionals, hoteliers, starred chefs and thousands of wine lovers from all over the world who come to discover our products at the winery. Our challenge is to position Mauritius on the world wine map thanks to a totally unique and innovative concept.

By joining the Made in Moris Association, Takamaka Boutique Winery, sees an opportunity to expand the visibility and notoriety of its brand, since we believe that Made in Moris offers a great opportunity to promote local expertise through customer awareness.
